SIGRINER servo for NC flame cutting machine applications

Flame cutting is the use of iron oxide combustion in the process of high temperature to cut carbon steel, is a common way of steel plate roughing. Numerical control technology introduces flame cutting, realize the automation of the whole process of cutting, significantly improve the cutting quality of steel plate blanking (size range and incision quality, can replace part of the mechanical processing), high production efficiency (continuous cutting, multi-gun cutting) and high material utilization rate (set cutting). SIGRINER AC servo system originated in Germany, deep in Asia. With the advantages of high precision, high response speed, self - tuning, it is more and more applied to the field of industrial control. This paper mainly introduces the application of SIGRINER Ω6 pulse servo in NC flame cutting machine.

CNC flame cutting machine introduction

Numerical control flame cutting machine is to use digital program to drive machine tool movement, equipped with flame cutting system, the use of numerical control system to control the switch of flame cutting system, steel plate and other metal materials for cutting. CNC flame cutting machine is mainly composed of flame cutting system, machine body, and motion control system (CNC system + servo system).

As shown in FIG. 1, the CNC flame cutting equipment generally adopts gantry design and is set in accordance with Cartesian three-dimensional coordinate system. There are three feed axes in X/Y/Z directions. The X/Y axis is driven by rack and pinion, and the control mode is position control. The machine runs at a speed of 0-8m/min. The Z axis drives the cutting machine head to complete the up and down movement through a set of servo drive system, and the driving mechanism is ball screw. Numerical control + servo system controls the transverse and longitudinal motion into the cutting torch trajectory, that is, the shape of the workpiece to be cut.

The flame cutting system uses acetylene, propane, liquefied gas, coke oven gas, natural gas and other gas to cut metal materials with oxygen. Torch is the main tool for flame cutting.
